Greetings,
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope my blog posts inspire you and help you grow in your spirituality. This blog is a collection of quotes, stories, spiritual reflections, poetry, and practical tips for staying well.
I chose the blog name “Tunnel Vision 8” during a spirituality retreat in Wisconsin. I did not bring my computer, so I used the retreat center’s computer. I needed a photo for my blog header, so I looked through the ones on my new phone, and all I had were flowers and a few tunnel shots from canoeing with my daughter. I decided to use the tunnel picture (see the photo above), and the blog’s name was born.
I like the image of the tunnel. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel also represents travel and speed. Many people who have out-of-body experiences talk about moving through a tunnel.
The number “8” is unique. When the number “8” is sideways, it is the infinity symbol. According to Wikipedia, the number eight is a lucky number in Chinese and other Asian cultures. In Buddhism, the 8-spoked Dharmacakra represents the Noble Eightfold Path. The Eight Limbs of Yoga also appear in the Yoga Sutras.
If you want to contact me, please email me at gina.gafford@tunnelvision8.com.
To love fully, we must remove fear and pride.

Gina is currently working on a children’s book titled “Athena’s Meditation Adventure.” The story is inspired by her experiences as a Montessori teacher, where she taught meditation and yoga to preschool children.
It also celebrates Athena—named after her granddaughter, who was born with a limb difference—and honors the resilience, curiosity, and beauty that make all children wonderfully unique. Includes a mandala coloring page.
Gina is also working on “The Butterfly Spirit: Insights on Death and Dying From a Massage Therapist.”
In The Butterfly Spirit, Gina M. Gafford shares 24 unforgettable stories from her years as a hospice massage therapist. Along the way, she explores spiritual insights, mysterious experiences, and the profound grief of losing her parents. Blending personal stories, Buddhist teachings, and practical wisdom, this book offers gentle guidance for aging well, living fully, and approaching death with greater peace and understanding.
